This joint seminar brought to you by The New Zealand Timber Design Society and NZWood intends to provide insight into developments on support for the use of timber in buildings.
Architects, building owners, quantity surveyors and others in the building process need to be able to determine appropriate uses of timber in structures during the conceptual design stage. In this seminar local as well as overseas examples will be shown to highlight how timber can be used in place of other construction materials. This seminar will provide architects and engineers alike, with an update on tools being developed to ease the specification of timber.
The demand from engineers for seminars to provide them with tools to design timber structures will be addressed by providing snapshots of full one day technical engineering seminars to be held over the coming year.
With a combination of knowledge on timber use and design from Timber Design Society members, and the tools and end user focus of NZWood, this seminar will provide you with a well rounded overview of changes in the timber industry and a taste of technical information available in specific full day seminars and online resources.
