A Composite Timber-Concrete Bridge

This paper describes the construction, design and testing of a composite timber-concrete bridge, and the advantages and limitations of this type of construction. The bridge consists of a nominally reinforced concrete slab over a naillaminated timber slab of alternate 10 x 2 in. and 12 x 2 in. Radiata pine planks (on edge) spanning the 20 ft. between abutments.
