| The New Zealand timber industry is playing its part in the remorseless globalisation of trade by harmonising its standards primarily with Australia and secondarily with ISO documents. While it is recognised that Standards, per se, do not create trade, they are a necessary adjunct to that activity. Differing standards are considered to be a barrier to trade while uniform or harmonised standards are considered to be a lubricant to trade. |
