The third edition of the Timber Design Guide, published by the New Zealand Timber Industry Federation Inc. in July 2007, was launched at the Timber Desing Guide Seminar Series in September/October 2007.
This 331 page A4 size book is essential reading for all architects and engineers involved in structural design using timber, or considering a timber alternative.
Architects will find many chapters of interest including durability and treatment, moisture effects, timber finishes, fire resistance and acoustic behaviour.
Timber merchants and sawmillers will be interested in chapters on wood and wood properties, also manufacture and use of sawn timber, glulam, LVL, roundwood and panel products.
