The New Zealand Timber Design Society (TDS) is happy to offer two conference support grants for the WoodWorks conference, 21st-22nd September 2021, Roturua, New Zealand. Successful recipients will receive financial assistance of up to 1,700 NZD including GST covering expenses for registration, accommodation and transport to the conference.
Recipients will be asked to contribute a short paper for the Timber Design Society Journal based around question three as per below.
All early career professionals (up to 6 years experience) interested in timber engineering are eligible to participate in the Scholarship. Candidates with clear connections to timber design are preferred.
Exclusions: Senior Engineers, Team Leaders or Managers.
The following documents are required for the application:
1 – CV (1 page max)
2- Statement of purpose: maximum half a page describing the interest in the funding and why you think you would be the best candidate to receive the grant.
3- Motivation: maximum half a page describing the potential impact of the conference on your career in relation with timber engineering. What benefit would it have to your organisation and community? How does it relate to the TDS mandate?
