About the event

Cross-laminatedtimber (CLT) is a structural two-way spanning product that has significantly contributed to the realisation of mass timber construction worldwide. A well-established CLT manufacturing process ensures the manufacturer’s productivity and product quality. This webinar will provide an overview of the CLT manufacturing process and comprehensive information about product qualification requirements. The contents of an internationally acknowledged CLT product standard, ISO 16696, will be discussed mainly, while ANSI/APA PRG320 and EN 16351 standards will be referenced throughout the webinar.

Speaker's bio Hyungsuk“Thomas” Lim is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Forestry at the University of Canterbury supported by WIDE Trust. He has expertise in wood mechanics, engineered wood product manufacturing, and structural performance evaluation of timber building components, such as connections and wall systems. As an assistant professor at Mississippi State University, he led numerous research projects in the United States. Currently, he is leading research projects on innovative engineered wood product development and structural evaluation of timber buildings affected by natural hazards.
