A Composite Timber-Concrete Bridge

This paper describes the construction, design and testing of a composite timber-concrete bridge, and the advantagesand limitations of this type of construction. The bridge consists of a nominally reinforced concrete slab over a nail-laminated timber slab of alternate 10 x 2 in. and 12 x 2 in. Radiata pine planks (on edge) spanning the 20 ft. betweenabutments.
