WCTE2023 - Unveiling Global Insight from My First Conference

Attending a conference for the first time, my expectations were a blend of anticipation and uncertainty. Seated on the plane en-route to Oslo, on the other side of the world, I found myself in a unique situation as a novice conference goer. After a gruelling 36-hour journey, I arrived at 12 pm and had to contend with jet lag in order to participate in the icebreaker event scheduled for 6 pm. While challenging, the experience proved to be rewarding. My main goal was simple: meet new folks, dive into different viewpoints, and get a handle on the global challenges that go beyond what little old Aotearoa usually deals with.
